Performance & Exam Results

This link provides our Key Stage 4 (KS4) results for 2016-2017 (DfE provisional), which are also published in the school performance tables on the Department for Education (DfE) website.  The link also shows the results of all other local authority schools in comparison and details the full statistics of LWS Academy. Revised KS4 results for 2017-18 will not be available until next term. This information is maintained by the DfE and will be updated again in January 2019 following their August to December checking process.

LWS examination successes are reported as the best possible outcomes achieved by students during the academic year 2017-18. ‘Outliers’ have been removed from the analysis at this stage but further information can be supplied on request. Government statistical progress data can be found via “School Compare” on the Department for Education website.

Attainment 8 – Each grade a student achieves carries points. A8 is the average total points that the students scored with their qualifications. The bigger the number the better.

Progress 8 – All schools nationally are judged against the progress students make from KS2 through to the end of KS4. Progress 8 compares pupils’ key stage 4 results to those of other pupils nationally with similar KS2 results. The bigger the number the better with the national average being 0.

2018 GCSE Results Headlines

A huge congratulationations to all our Year 11 students who recieved their GCSE results today.

The students have done themselves proud and improved upon the  results of last year by some distance. A special mention needs to go to Dan Jolley who surpassed all expectations and leaves us with 4’s and above across all but one subject – Mum was very proud! A very well done goes to Lewis as well for his achievements in English and Science.

With the changes to the national assessment framework to consider and increased rigour in curriculum content, the achievements of the students are all the more sweet. The students surpassed last years results by 40%. We have seen a 40% improvement in English, 23% improvement in Mathematics and 25% in Ebacc.

75% of students passed English Language, 62% of students passed English Literature.

86% of students passed Mathematics and 100% of students passed combined Science.

The results and achievements of our students is a reflection upon all of their hard work and effort. This, however, could not have been achieved without the dedication and energy of the committed LWS staff team. Well done to all and we wish all our Year 11 leavers the very best in their futures.
